Covid-19: Nigeria reports daily rise in cases

Nigeria has recorded another daily record of more than 1,600 new cases of Covid-19 infections. 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said it was concerned about the rate of transmission in the country.

More than 94,000 cases have now been confirmed with at least 100 deaths recorded in the last two weeks.

In the last 24 hours, Lagos state has recorded 642 cases of Covid-19 - the highest number of cases confirmed so far. 

The state's governor has appealed to residents to adhere to public health safety protocols.
