Idris Elba tests positive for coronavirus

British-Sierra Leonean actor Idris Elba is self-isolating after testing positive for the coronavirus on Monday. 

“It sucks … I’m doing OK” Elba said in a video shared to twitter. 

The actor took a test after realising he’d been exposed to an infected person. 

Elba, whose parents grew up in Sierra Leone and Ghana, said he has not displayed any symptoms so far. 

In the video he urged others to continue washing their hands regularly and maintain social distancing measures. 

“We live in a divided world … but now is the time for thinking about each other … Stay positive, and don’t freak out” he concluded.
